Special Events

The Pride of the Prairie Quilters holds many special events each year. 

2012 Holiday Party

January 15, 2012 at 5:00 PM.  Tamarack Golf Club, 24032 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville.  Cost is $25 per member.  Sign-up begins at the November meeting.  Our hostesses are Cheryl Barkdoll, Susan Blain or Sharon Smith.  Please contact them with any questions you may have. 

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES at the party:

  • Rolls of Quarters - Bring a fat quarter (in Batik, Civil War or Novelty Fabric) that has been rolled and tied with a string.  It needs to be purchased from a quilt shop.  For each roll, you will receive a chance to win all the rolls in your category.  Remember, your roll should be a Batik, Civil War or Novelty.

  • Holiday Block Exchange - Make any block of your choice from holiday fabrics and/or colors.  The unfinished size should be 12-1/2 so that it will finish at 12".  Please use quilt shop quality fabrics.  For every block you bring - you will get one in return.

  • Homemade Pincushion Exchange.  Bring your creative pincushion hidden in a brown lunch bag for the exchange and you will go home with another cute pincushion!  Bring one - get one.

  • Plainfield Food Pantry Collection

 

Guild Retreats

Saturday Sew-Ins:  One day Sew-In.  Drop in hours from 9am to 9pm, held at Zion Lutheran Church.  2012 Dates:  Feb 4, April 21, June 9, August 11, and Nov 10.

Fall 2012:  October 4 - 7.  Sienna Center, Racine, WIS.  Choose to arrive on Thursday or Friday.  Sign up with Kathy Mueller.
