Connie Martin: Secret Codes and Hidden Messages - May 16
The Pride of the Prairie Quilters Guild is excited to recognize the 40th anniversary of the founding of this organization. So many things have changed, yet many have stayed the same. For example, the guild was started pre-internet, which led the leaders to evolve with all the technological changes. Today, we all know the challenge continues; we all deal with it. What has stayed the same is the care, dedication, and even love stitched into every quilt project. Also, inspiration and communication have expanded, making the possibilities immense.
To celebrate the founding and current members, POP has developed a quilt challenge that embraces the commemorative gemstone, the ruby. Please read on for more information.
"What kind of Challenge?" you ask. Let's go red and white since the 40th Anniversary stone is ruby!
Here are the details…
· Must be Red and White only.
· We will let you decide how much of each color.
· Any design.
· Must be 24” x 24” square. No bigger, no smaller
· 100% made and quilted by the guild member
These mini quilts will be displayed at the 40th Anniversary celebration!
If you would like to help with the planning, that would be appreciated. We are always looking for ideas. Please email Lynn Scheimann at lscheimann@comcast.net or any of the members of the program's committee.
